Yukio Lippit is K. Weston Associate Professor of the Humanities in the Department of History of Art and Architecture at Harvard University. He is the author of Painting of the Realm: The Kano House of Painters in Seventeenth-Century Japan (University of Washington Press, 2012) and coauthor of Awakenings: Zen Figure Painting in Medieval Japan (Japan Society, 2007).
