Dr Carter Malkasian completed his doctorate on the history of wars of attrition, specialising in the Korean War, at Oxford University. He is the special assistant for strategy to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Joseph Dunford and has published several books, including the critically acclaimed A History of Modern Wars of Attrition (Praeger, 2002) and Illusions of Victory (OUP, 2017).
