At the age of 50, this is Stephen Maxwell's first novel. Like many Australians, he is a self-prescribed journeyman, having traveled extensively throughout the world, immersing himself in a diverse range of careers; from being a nightclub manager in London, a transport company owner in Bunbury, to a bar and restaurant owner in Phuket. These days, he shares his time between living and writing in the jungles of southern Thailand, and working occasionally in Australia, to support this dream.
