Joel de Rosnay is currently Director of strategy for the Science and Industry Complex in La Villette, Paris, and was previously Director of Research Applications at the Pasteur Institute in Paris. De Rosnay received his doctorate in organic chemistry from the Pasteur Institute in 1965, and worked as a research associate in biology and computer graphics at MIT. The author of several books for the general public, in 1990 de Rosnay received the award for scientific communication from the French Academie des Sciences. De Rosnay is also the author of several multimedia programs and presentations and numerous articles on new technologies; he has been interviewed on television and radio in several countries, is active on Internet discussion lists and maintains his own Web site (http: //www.cite-sciences.fr/derosnay).
