Late Professor Iqbal Husain (1935- 2017) retired as Professor, Centre of Advanced Study in History, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He is the author of Religion and Ideology of the Rebels of 1857 (2012), Studies in the Polity, Economy and Society of the Trans-Gangetic Valley, Fifteenth-Nineteenth Centuries (2013), and numerous publications in Urdu including the text of well-known Urdu weekly newspaper from Lucknow (1856-1857), namely Tilism.
