Julian Norton is a respected veterinary surgeon, regular on the popular television series The Yorkshire Vet and author of many novels for adults, including Horses, Heifers and Hairy Pigs: The Life of a Yorkshire Vet and All Creatures: Heart-Warming Tales from a Yorkshire Vet. Julian’s best-loved collections of short stories for children include Adventures with a Yorkshire Vet: Lambing Time and Adventures with a Yorkshire Vet: The Lucky Foal and Other Animal Tales. Having worked in Yorkshire at various animal practices, Julian became a partner at a practice at which Alf Wight (better known under his pseudonym of James Herriot) worked. In 2019, Julian set up Sandbeck Veterinary Centre in Wetherby. He also spends a lot of time working in Thirsk, a town that he has made his home. Julian continues to appear on The Yorkshire Vet as well as regularly appearing as a guest on television shows and literary events.
