Margaret Christakos is the award-winning author of six acclaimed poetry collections and a novel, Charisma, shortlisted for the Trillium Book Award. She teaches creative writing and runs Influency: A Toronto Poetry Salon at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies. In response to her most recent book of poetry, Sooner (Coach House Books, 2005), the Pat Lowther Award jury called her "a linguistic trailblazer; Christakos catalyzes the reader to consider poetic language beyond traditions of metaphor and cadence."
