Dianne Warren won several prizes for the short fiction that formed her first three books, including the Marian Engel Award for fiction in 2004, given by the Writers' Trust of Canada. Her first novel, Juliet in August, was long-listed for the Giller Prize and won the prestigious Governor General's Award in 2010.
