Roberta Gilchrist is Professor of Archaeology and Dean of Research at the University of Reading and a Fellow of the British Academy. She has published widely on aspects of medieval religion and belief and the archaeology of gender. Her publications include 'Medieval Life: archaeology and the life course' (2012), 'Norwich Cathedral Close: the evolution of the English cathedral landscape' (2005) and, with Barney Sloane, 'Requiem: the medieval monastic cemetery in Britain' (2005).
