Voted Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Writer of the Year for 2021-22, Sue Hinkin was raised in Chicago and is a former college administrator, TV news photographer, and NBC-TV art department manager. She was also a Cinematography Fellow at the American Film Institute. Her debut novel, DEADLY FOCUS, a thriller featuring Los Angeles TV news journalist Bea Jackson and her BFF, photographer Lucia Vega, was a 2018 International Book Award finalist. The second book in the series, a Reader's Choice winner and Silver Falchion short-lister, LOW COUNTRY BLOOD, is set in Savannah, GA where Hinkin was a Dean at Savannah College of Art and Design. THE BURN PATIENT was released mid-pandemic and recently won the Foreword Indies award for best mystery from an independent publisher and the Colorado Humanities Center for the Book Award for Best Thriller of 2020.
