Born in the People’s Republic of China’s Shandong Province. Dr. Hao Ping received his masters degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and his PhD from Peking University’s School of International Relations. He has been both a professor and aca-demic administrator and has held such offices as the vice president of Beijing University and president of Beijing Foreign Studies University. In his current role as vice minister of education, Hao Ping is a leading figure in China’s education reform and develop- ment. He is the author of sev- eral books, including Sun Yatsen’s Revolution and the United States and An Unfortunate Ending: John Leighton Stuart and China.
