Author Joyce A. Williams was born and grew up in Glen Carbon. She presently serves on the Glen Carbon Historical Commission. She has authored numerous historical articles about the village. She lives in the village with her husband, Bob, who renovated the Yanda Log Cabin. Many of the historic images in the book are from the Glen Carbon Heritage Museum.
