Purple Ronnie was originally created by Giles Andreae in 1987, who also created Edward Monkton. Throughout the 1990s the brand expanded into books, cards, toiletries, apparel, stationery and gifts. Purple Ronnie has grossed over £100 million at UK retail over the past 25 years. Giles sold the brand to Coolabi in 2007.
