Brian Charlesworth is a Senior Honorary Professorial Fellow at the Institute of Evolutionary Biology, University of Edinburgh, and former president of the Society for the Study of Evolution. He is coauthor of Elements of Evolutionary Genetics with his wife, Deborah.
