Jonathan Harlen was born in New Zealand and has worked as a scriptwriter, comedy writer and journalist, as well as being a well-known writer of children's books. He and his wife now live in Australia, where they own a farm that grows coffee and timber. When Jonathan was growing up, he loved Roald Dahl books. He has three kids.
