Lynne Swanson is a shelter veterinarian and popular conference speaker with decades of experience in canine rescue and rehabilitation. Known for her ability to explain the canine mindset in an easy-to-understand and engaging manner, she approaches the topic of "problem" dogs using a combination of carefully-crafted routines, knowledgeable body language, good timing, movement and an understanding of canine culture, social rules, associations and state of mind. What results is a better understanding of our own culture, social rules, associations and state of mind. Retired from active practice, Dr. Swanson considers Safe Harbor Farm K9 Rescue & Rehabilitation Center in North Carolina her home base, and she donates all book proceeds to canine rescue and library pet-parenting education projects.
