Keith Carter is an internationally recognised photographer and educator. He holds the endowed Walles Chair of Art at Lamar University in his hometown of Beaumont, Texas. In 1998 he received the University Professor Award and the Distinguished Faculty Lecturer Award. He is the recipient of the Lange/Taylor Prize from the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University and two Regional Survey Grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.
