Virginia Miller's first children’s book, Squeak-a-lot written by Martin Waddell, was runner-up for the prestigious Mother Goose Award in 1991. She has since illustrated Sailor Bear, Small Bear Lost, Kate’s Giants, Say Please! and seven other stories about the bears Bartholomew and George as well as a novelty book, Where Is Little Black Kitten?
