Karl W. Riebs graduated with Merit from the United States Naval Academy in 1992. He served in the Pacific Fleet as a Surface Warfare Officer aboard the guided missile destroyer "USS Chandler" (DDG-996) and on the staff of Commander, Destroyer Squadron 23. His assignments included deployments to the Persian Gulf, Somalia, and Central America. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal and the Southwest Asia Service Medal. Karl currently resides in Delafield, Wisconsin.
Kalinda Reeves got her start writing as an ELINT analyst in the Air Force, writing research papers. Since then, she has accumulated more than 17 years experience writing research, business, technical, and engineering documentation for government, military, and civilian customers. Her focus is computer/network hardware and software writing, and certification writing. During her writing career she has written more than 50 nonpublic documents for various customers, addressing system- and circuit-level hardware; uniquely developed, hardware-specific programs; and programs that were implemented across government and military communications systems. In addition, she has been a freelance writer for 10 years, during which time she co-authored five networking-genre books for public distribution.
Kalinda makes her home in Heron, Montana, and when she is not writing she home schools her children and indulges her many hobbies, including amateur (Ham) radio, cooking, gardening, all manner of crafts, drama writing and directing, mentoring aspiring writers, and hiking the beautiful trails of Big Sky Country.
