Alan Elsner was a Reuters correspondent for more than twenty-five years, first in the Middle East, then as bureau chief for Scandinavia, and later as State Department correspondent. From 1994-2000 as chief political correspondent, he traveled with President Clinton covering the 1996 and 2000 presidential elections. He lives outside Washington, DC.
