Born in South Dakota, New York–based author and magazine editor Tatiana Boncompagni was raised in Tennessee and Minnesota. After graduating magna cum laude from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, Boncompagni worked for the American Lawyer magazine in New York, the Legal Times in Washington, DC, and the Wall Street Journal Europe in Brussels. Her writing has appeared in dozens of publications, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Self, Marie Claire, InStyle, and Vogue. Her novels include Gilding Lily, Hedge Fund Wives, and her latest book, Social Death, the first in the Clyde Shaw Mysteries series.

Married with three young children, Boncompagni splits her time between Manhattan and a farm in the Hudson Valley.
