Renee is the proud parent of three children and six grandchildren. Her passion for teaching and learning has helped her become an award-winning children's author. As a retired teacher of child development for 25 years, Renee has earned many honors and accolades. She was the 1997 New Jersey Family Consumer Sciences Teacher of the Year. In 2008, she was honored as a Baldwin fellow at the University of Wisconsin at Madison for a Nanotechnology Meets Biotechnology conference. She has been an instructor for the Institute of Children's Literature and is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Renee's hobbies include philanthropic sewing, crossword puzzles, painting, mosaics, and developing lessons for currently-employed teachers. She lives in a rural area of New Jersey with her husband, Doug.
