Nicole Mortillaro is from Toronto, Ontario, where she works as a reporter for Global News. Before working as a journalist, she was a children's book editor for 10 years, focusing on hockey and non-fiction books. Nicole has written several books for children, including Willie O'Ree: The Story of the First Black Player in the NHL, Hockey Trailblazers, Jarome Iginla: How the NHL's First Black Captain Gives Back and Something to Prove: The Story of Hockey Tough Guy Bobby Clarke. She has twice been shortlisted for children's book awards.
