Martin Fido is a university lecturer whose career has included teaching in Oxford, Leeds, Michigan, and the West Indies. He is currently teaching at Boston University and lives on Cape Cod. For 20 years he was a freelance writer and broadcaster. A specialist in true crime, he is recognized worldwide as one of the leading authorities on Jack the Ripper. He also co-authored The Official Encyclopedia of Scotland Yard.
