Kim O'Brien grew up in Bronxville, New York, in an old Victorian house that her mother claimed was haunted in order to keep her and her brothers out of the attic. Her mother's ghost stories served not only that purpose, but also sparked her imagination and love of books and writing. Kim has worked for IBM as an editor and speechwriter, and holds an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College in New York.
She currently lives in The Woodlands, Texas, with her husband and two daughters - who do not allow her to tell scary stories - and is hard at work on her next novel.
