Dick Weiss has worked for the Philadelphia Daily News, New York Daily News and Blue Star Media since 1970. He has covered 46 NCAA Final Fours and co-authored 14 books with basketball personalities like Rick Pitino, John Calipari and Dick Vitale. Weiss has received the Curt Gowdy Media Award from the Naismith Hall of Fame, the Bert McGraine Award from the Football Writers of America and the College Football Hall of Fame, the first Big East Media award, the preseason NIT award, the Edwin Pope award from the Orange Bowl and the Lew Klein Award from the Temple Journalism Hall of Fame. Weiss was recently inducted into the National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Hall of Fame and is a member of the College Basketball Writers Hall of Fame, the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame, the Philadelphia Big 5 Hall of Fame and the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame (Delco Chapter). He is a past president of the Football Writers of America Association and the U.S. Basketball Writers' Association. He and his wife Joan, an editor and author, reside in Havertown, Pa.
