David Grant has dedicated over four decades to political, cultural and community affairs. Among his accomplishments, in chronological order, are: Master of Fine Arts at the Iowa Writer's Workshop; public television producer-director; self-sufficient homesteading; Peace Corps agro-forester among hunter-gatherers in the Philippines; community organizer with Rural Southern Voice for Peace, developing The Listening Project; founder of Peace Troupe theater group; educator and trainer in nonviolence for the International Fellowship of Reconciliation; charter director of Nonviolent Peaceforce; founder of Common Lot Productions, exploring improved forms of democracy.
