Allison Baker completed a BA in Gender Studies and Human Sexuality as well as a BFA in Sculpture from Indiana University. She is currently a Graduate at the Rhode Island School of Design pursuing a Masters in fine art-sculpture. The seed that germinates her work is often a feeling of pathos, a loose feeling, or gesture. This kernel grows and becomes more nuanced and complicated with theoretical/feminist readings. She explores the disparity between her lofty ideals and the reality of her life and is interested in confronting her own profound hypocrisy. With her work she wrestles with her presence within an ambiguous state, the grey area between desire and action.
