Reverend Lisa D. Williams is an ordained elder in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. She is the founder of Legacy of Faith, Inc. Legacy of Faith, Inc. is a non-for-profit ministry started in March 3, 2003, after the untimely death of her two-year old son, Nicholas. Legacy of Faith, Inc. is a ministry whose commitment is to provide opportunities to youth between the ages of 8 and 18 whereby they can make positive choices to enhance their lives. Rev. Williams is a native of Benton Harbor, Michigan. Her natural talent in writing led her to study at Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, Michigan, from which she received her Associate of Arts degree in Journalism. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark College (now Clark Atlanta University) in Mass Communication/Religion, Atlanta, Georgia and a Master of Divinity degree in Christian Education from the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta, Georgia. She is currently the Chaplain at the United Methodist Children's Home in Decatur, Georgia. She also coordinates and supervises students from the three seminaries in metro the Atlanta area (Candler School of Theology/Emory University, I.T.C. and Columbia Theological Seminary). Prior to serving as chaplain, Rev. Williams served several United Methodist Churches in the North Georgia Conference. She was also fortunate to serve at a United Methodist Church in St. Croix, Virgin Island and the Murphy-Harpst-Vashti, Inc. as a US-2 missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries. Rev. Williams is a member of the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), Black Concerned Clergy of Metro Atlanta; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Georgia-Lina Emmaus Community, and the National Association for the Advancement of Color People (N.A.A.C.P.). She has been in ministry for 15 years. Her gifts have encouraged thousands of people young and old, to experience practical ways of serving God. She has travels abroad preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, sharing the "Good News" in Africa, Caribbean, Jamaica, Jerusalem, and Greece. She is on a mission to share the love and transforming power of Christ to the world. She and her husband Rufus (Rudy) lives in the Decatur area. They have been married for 13 years.
