Michaela Lane Vorwerk has been helping her father, author Michael Lane, develop this book for the Marine Biology program since he began teaching it in the public school system in the 1980s. She originally developed many of the technical drawings you find in the book today. Amanda Sommer and Heather Anderson, Michael's two other daughters, were also instrumental in developing the original book this publication is based on. Michaela Lane Vorwerk and Joie Suson teach on the Marine Biology trip every year.
