Leonie Caldecott was born in London and educated at the French Lycee and Oxford. In her early years as a freelance journalist she won the 1982 Catherine Pakenham Award. Since becoming a Roman Catholic, she has lectured on faith and culture in many places, including Oxford Brookes University and the Pontifical Council for Culture in Rome. She is Associate Director of the Thomas More Centre for Faith and Culture in Oxford, where she lives with her husband and three daughters.
