Sarah is a queer, working-class writer, director and performer based in Glasgow.
She has a number of BAFTA and Oscar qualifying short films under her belt that have played at festivals such as Hot Docs, Glasgow Short, Aesthetica and EIFF, and she has created short-form digital first comedy for BBC The Social and BBC Short Stuff, gaining tens of millions of views across digital and social media. Her work with writing partner, Katrina Allen, also won an RTS Scotland Award for Best Short Form.
She is moving towards writing and directing long form for film and television as part of the BBC Comedy Bursary (shadowing Jack Clough on BBC's Things Your Should Have Done), Young Films Residency (mentored by Joe Thomas), BAFTA Flare (mentored by Jack Rooke), and BBC Voices Scotland. She has work in development with BBC Studios, Candle and Bell, and Northbridge Media.
Sarah is the author of Fat Girl Best Friend, a creative non-fiction book about representation of plus size women in film and tv, published by Tippermuir books. She is also a practicing spoken word artists and award winning theatre maker, with shows she has take to Glastonbury and beyond. Sarah is committed to creating body positive, sex positive and inclusive female-led stories that are honest, feminist and fearless.
