Alison Kervin is a contemporary multi-media artist from Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she works as a middle school art teacher. She graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 2013, her Bachelor of Education from Mount Saint Vincent University in 2015, and in 2021 she obtained a Certificate in Technology from Dalhousie University. Alison is an accomplished artist; her work has been featured in galleries throughout Nova Scotia and her paintings have sold globally.
Alison came up with the idea for her book during the global Covid-19 pandemic. She saw how doodling and drawing had a positive, calming effect on her students, and she wanted to recreate that effect for people of all ages. With these colorful unfinished backgrounds, Alison hopes to encourage spontaneous innate creativity, allowing anyone to get lost in their own doodles. Each completed book will celebrate the unique personality, and visual interpretations, of the artist. Finished books or pages can be added to the Facebook group Doodle Caboodle, or on Instagram @doodle_caboodle_book.
