Jim Kennison was born into an economically challenged family in rural southern Indiana. At a young age, he moved with his parents and three siblings to the rolling hills of central Kentucky, where he grew up caring for thoroughbred horses. Following a professional career in higher education teaching and administration in the states of New Jersey, New York, Washington, and Oregon, Jim and his wife Elletta now live in their beach home on the central Oregon coast. Heartbreak Trail to Pueblo is Jim Kennison’s second novel and Big Trouble in a Small Town is also available.
