Michaela Pfadenhauer, a university professor of sociology, is vice dean of the Faculty for Humanitities and Social Sciences at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). She is a member of the council of the German Sociological Association and the advisory board of the sociological journal Soziale Interaktion.
