David Ewert was born in the former USSR and moved to Canada with his parents. He grew up on a farm in southern Alberta. In 1944 he married Lena Hamm, with whom he now has five children, twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. David has been involved in the teaching and preaching ministry at home and abroad since 1944. After attending several Bible training schools, he earned degrees from The University of British Columbia (B.A.), Wheaton Graduate School, Illinois (M.A.), Central Baptist Seminary, Toronto (B.D.), Luther Seminary, St Paul (M.Th.), and McGill University, Montreal (Ph.D.). He was also awarded an honorary doctorate by the Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary, Fresno, California. He is Professor Emeritus of Biblical Studies at Canadian Mennonite University, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The author of numerous articles and books in the field of biblical studies, David continues to lecture and publish. He and Lena presently make their home in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
