Prof. (Dr) Ramesh Chandra Bharati, born on 31st January 1961 is presently working at ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna. He has more than twenty five years of teaching and research experience. He was University professor of Statistics in the Post Graduate Department of Rajendra Agricultural University Bihar, Pusa and served the University for twenty years. He did his Ph.D. in Agricultural Statistics from Gujarat Agricultural University Navsari (Gujarat). He was the recipient of Gold Medal for standing first class first in M.Sc. (Ag.) examination form Rajendra Agricultural University Bihar, Pusa. He guided dozen of Ph.D. and M. Sc. students in the area of Agricultural Statistics. In addition to this he acted as joint advisor for more than 200 P.G. and Ph.D. students belonging to different disciplines of Agriculture, Veterinary and Home Sciences. He has developed various crop forecast models, crop insurance plans and risk assessment in different districts of eastern region of India. He has been also associated in the development of efficient agro-techniques, including efficient cropping systems and varieties as well as standardization of different conservation agricultural techniques for Bihar conditions. He has about sixty publications in national and international referred journals, including books, book chapters and manuals. He has also developed statistical software RAUSTAT for Windows V1.0. He has been associated in international collaborative project on Natural Resource Management sponsored by Bills and Melinda Gates Foundation. He has experience of working on several research projects of national and international importance in the area of agriculture and statistics. >
