Mary Tyler is Principal Lecturer and Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Youth and Community Development in De Montfort University’s Youth and Community Division. She is a qualified social worker and has Masters in Deviancy and Social Policy and in Education Management. She worked in many roles with young people and communities before working at the National Youth Bureau (now the NYA) and the Open University. She teaches and acts as professional tutor for youth and community work students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels specialising in management teaching.
