James L. Dickerson, a former resident of the 1000 Islands, is the author of numerous books, including Mojo Rising: Master of the Arts, Colonel Tom Parker: The Curious Life of Elvis Presley's Eccentric Manager, and the prize winning Mojo Triangle: Birthplace of Country, Blues, Jazz and Rock 'n' Roll. He has been a book critic for the Baltimore Sun, Toronto Star, and Nashville Tennessean. A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Dickerson is also a published short story writer and novelist.
