Jamie Ursiny is a former elementary school teacher, teen counselor, and graduate of the University of North Carolina's master of instructional technology program. Jamie's experiences working with battered women and children have developed her perspective of the path to healing. Jamie temporarily retired from her work with other children and families to raise her special-needs son adopted after her sister's death. Jamie is currently working on a grant to create a special needs play museum for children like her son. In her masters training, Jamie co-developed projects for a local women's services organization to help women deal with anger issues, created an online course for the parents of children with sensory processing disorder, and headed the project design for a sobriety ranch named for her sister. She is an amateur filmmaker and photographer, as well as a Christian web designer in training. Jamie is a resident of North Carolina. She maintains a close, supportive relationship with her deceased sister's older daughters and grandchild.
