Joss Lynam is the doyen of Irish hillwalkers. Himself an experienced and accomplished mountaineer, he is a founder member of the Irish Mountaineering Club which celebrated its golden jubilee in 1998, and the editor of the Irish Mountain Log. He has been general editor of the Gill & Macmillan Walk Guide series since its inception twenty years ago.
