Luis de la Palma (1559-1641) was a Spanish Jesuit priest and is considered part of the golden age of Spanish religious literature, alongside St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. John of Avila, Fray Luis of Granada, St. John of the Cross and St. Teresa of Avila. He wrote The History of the Sacred Passion in 1624. It met with enthusiastic reception and was soon translated into multiple languages.
