Psychologist John Selby is the author of over thirty fiction and nonfiction books plus a dozen feature screenplays. Although he's worked as a therapist, musician, psych-tech researcher, and author coach, John's primary passion has been the exploration of radical transformation literature and films. He studied literature at Princeton University and screenwriting at the American Film Institute. Emerging from a four-generation California cattle-ranching heritage, he has done brain research for the National Institutes of Health; anthropological fieldwork exploring Native American shamanic traditions; and served as cofounder and CEO of two internet online-therapy corporations (the BrightMind Network and WizeWell Inc). High Heart, and the parallel novels Higher Forces and Ten Percent Max, are John's most recent fiction creations. He lives in the foothills of Santa Cruz with his wife, Birgitta.
