David Mann graduated from UC Berkeley in engineering during the tumultuous sixties. He then earned an MDiv from Union Theological Seminary in NYC and became active in civil rights work before being ordained as a UCC minister. He went on to focus on community organizing with PICO, a faith-based national network. David has taught courses on community organizing in at the Graduate Theological Union, then recently at Pomona College, where he co-taught religion, ethics, and social practice. Now a potter, David lives in Claremont, California with his wife, Penelope, and has two adult children and four grandchildren.
