David Healey is a native Marylander who often writes about the people and places of the Delmarva Peninsula. His articles have appeared in American History, Chesapeake Bay magazine, Chesapeake Life, the Washington Times and Delmarva Quarterly. He is also the author of 1812: Rediscovering Chesapeake Bay's Forgotten War (Bella Rosa Books) and a Civil War novel, Sharpshooter (Penguin Putnam). A graduate of Washington College in Chestertown and of the Stonecoast MFA program, Healey lives with his wife and two children along the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal in Cecil County, Maryland.
