HANK JOHNSON was born in New York City and raised there by recording and broadcast singer-musicians in an atmosphere of folk songs, old hymns, jingles and popular tunes of bygone eras. Educated at Duke, North Carolina (Chapel Hill) and N.Y.U., he has taught at Western Michigan University, Skidmore College and Towson University, and served as Executive Director of the Maryland State Arts Council and Executive Vice-President of the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce. He is the author of eleven produced plays, including musicals, and a novella, The Looking Glass Call (Banda Press International) and now lives with his wife in Hebron Township, New York.
