John Drake is originally from Liverpool, England but is now an adopted Dubliner. He specializes in the criminally under-represented genre of satirical historical fiction and wrote his first 'serious' line of writing at the grand old age of forty. He is the author of both Making Man - a comedy centred around a Neanderthal with itchy feet and the mind of an engineer - and Cheating Death - another comedy set during the famously jovial Black Death of 14th century Europe. He can usually be found sandwiched somewhere in between a good pun and a thesaurus.
