She writes contemporary romantic suspense novels under her own name, futuristic novels as Jayne Castle, and historical romance novels under the pseudonym Amanda Quick. There are over thirty-five million copies of her books in print. She holds a degree in library science from San Jose State University and previously worked as a librarian at Duke University.
