Sandra Hall began work as a cadet journalist on the Sydney Sun. Most of her career has been spent as a feature writer and critic contributing to newspapers and magazines. She has worked as the Australian'S television critic and its literary editor and, for more than 20 years, has been the Bulletin'S film critic. In 1994, Hall was the recipient of The Pascall Prize for film and television criticism.

A Thousand Small Wishes is her first novel.
