James Knight was raised in the country town of Gunnedah in north-west NSW. From a young age he spent endless hours bashing a cricket ball into a chicken-wire fence in the backyard of the family property. When he realised he'd never be good enough to play for Australia, he dreamed of becoming a cricket writer and commentator.

In the past decade his career has spanned Sydney metropolitan radio, press and television. A three-time winner of the NSW Cricket Association's best TV feature, he has covered tours in India, Pakistan, South Africa, the West Indies and England. He is the author of Lee2: Lee to the Power of Two, with Shane and Brett Lee.
